Wyatt Earp's Death Bed.......
Tue Mar 01, 2022 10:50

... was set up in a small guest house behind the so called Boyer 'ranch house'. The death bed was definitely the type of bed one would find in the 1920's California motor court hotels. However I have never seen any documentation to support Boyer's claims that Wyatt Earp actually died in in this bed. I did manage to extract a verbal answer per the documentation: "Albert Behan" provided confirmation. Every year or two Boyer would host an event at or near his home. I attended the 1999 event and met a number of Boyer loyalists, fans and Boyer Clerics. Included in the event were a few very unusual and sometimes strange personalities. One unusual attendee especially was very macabre: A history professor from a small North Texas University, This professor lady every year would "have dibs" on being the attendee who would sleep in Wyatt Earp's death bed. What I thought was really strange was nobody else wanted to sleep in Wyatt Earp's death bed even assuming that it really was somehow documented as such. Thus I was never sure why it was necessary for this lady to claim "dibs" as the attendee who won the right to sleep in the bed. There were a number of other unusual personality's in attendance but one core value which they all shared was they were all confirmed and dedicated heterosexuals or women who never engaged in lesbian interaction. The other core value I noticed is they were all republicans and anti-communists. Senator Joseph McCarthy would have felt right at home with this group of Boyer-ites and solid core Americans.

As I recall, Glenn accused most of the men here as being dues paying members of the Peter Pan patrol. He didn't rightly care for the up and coming generation of western oriented historians asking him far... more

I am highly impressed that Albert Behan would be able identify Earp's death bed. The pistol auctioned off as Earp's, after Boyer's death, had had its serial numbers filed off. I reckon Earp had some free... more

But what in the name of Barnum is a "Boyer Cleric"? (I have my suspicions, but they aren't fit to mention in this forum.) Your story reminds me of another similar one about the Lizzie Borden... more

I’m not sure if you would have asked to sleep in Wyatt Earp’s death bed? I think that any man asking for that particular accommodation would have been immediately assigned to Boyer’s gay alert radar... more

I do my best work in the dark. Or so the rumor. No voodoux or seances though, at least that I can recall, but then, my powers of recollection, among so many other things, ain't what they used to be.

I didn't. Some of my colleagues did. There was a fire in a senior care facility and, just like Wyatt Earp in Lake's book, they assisted in the safe evacuation of all the seniors. They were invited... more

Towards the end there he seemed desperate for attention and even approval. Sort of like he was cornered by his own shadow. It's possible that he would have pretended to like you. For your ears.
