By "outset" are you referring to the first two shots or after he is out in the street?

Addie said she went to the back of the building after the shooting starts. When shooting breaks out people have a tendency to move rather quickly. She was gone before having time to see much except for the first two shots. So she claims. I have no reason not to believer her, and sounds reasonable enough to me.
