Bumbling Bronk...

Well, I don't know if officer Bronk exaggerated Ike's behaviour or not, but according to Virgil, Bronk seemed a little pre-occupied before he informed Virgil that he was at death's door. This while Bronk is getting some other matter taken care of.

Is this an afterthought? Ike is so out of his mind that by himself, with no known backing, he is going to slaughter Holliday and all three Earps. Ike has no knowledge that Frank and Billy are coming in to town with Frink, who just asked them that morning. Also, Ike has not sought any assistance from Tom and has no apparent idea where he is at the moment.

Virgil is laying it all on a little thick, don't you think? How about the earlier version of Lynch informing Virgil he was being hunted down to be killed as well. I find it hard to believe Ike didn't know where to find Virgil; right on the corner of First and Fremont!

It gets better. Now the whole Earp clan has surfaced and they report the same dastardly doings. It is hard to believe that all this chaos is the action of one single man...certainly a fearless individual. Then the Vigilantes approach Virgil and they report they have heard of imminent trouble as well. This guy says he 'seen two more of them just rode in,' and then he says another one just rode in on a horse and said 'now is our time to make a fight!' Who is this number three who wants to take on the town?

Meanwhile, Ike is peacefully walking down Fourth with a man named Stilwell. They are going to the Bank, it seems. There seems to be no raucous behaviour at this time so Virgil is wetting his pants over gossip! Is he this gullible? Does he not check out anything? Wyatt keeps claiming to be a Detective, of all things! so, go detect!

From what you are assessing, Deputy Bronk (sp?) exaggerated Ike’s behavior and he should not have tried to elicit action from Virgil Earp? 🤔

Well, BJ, as you may have noticed by now, I not only have a suspicious nature but am inclined to read every few lines with an "...wait a minute. something doesn't sound right here!..." attitude. It slows... more

Joyce, I’m trying to understand your train of thought so I appreciate your patience per my limited education level and cognitive deficits. I also remember reading that other citizens were very concerned... more
