The Peer Review process is very important in determining the validity of any research document prior to publication.
Whenever I complete a history research document for my history-masters program, my research document is evaluated by several professors and graduate assistants.
My research paper is later returned to me with various suggestions for editing, additional footnotes, additional evidence etc.
The Peer Review process can be a very humbling experience but it is very important that I am able to accept and incorporate the feedback from professional historians and researchers during the re-write process of the research.
A good example of the above process is JFK’s research document prior to its publication and peer review for his publication: “Why England Slept”
JFK used the peer review process to increase the historical accuracy prior to the manuscript’s publication.
