It is very difficult to get historical records at the AHS in Tucson anymore. The society is under-funded and so there is not always someone there. Also, the ones there are not the old-rimers who knew what to look for but young college kids who have little interest and would only help out if you already knew what you were looking for. They wouldn't know how to follow a trail and dig out anything. It is very discouraging. I live in Tombstone but fortunately I have my friend, Tom Gaumer, who tries to do some digging at AHS, but they are not always open and parking is a problem.

I do have copies of Mr. Vaughn's account. I will see if I can dig it up for you. My files are over-whelming now and I tried to be organized but...

    Many old timers have left oral histories with the Arizona Pioneers Historical Society in Tucson, including Mr. Vaughn. As I recall, Vaughn asserted that Holliday was involved in the stage robbery. But... more
