Daniel M. Ferguson had a wife named Tillie. In 1906, she and her nine year old son,Leon, went to a restaurant. At this restaurant, Tillie tried to kill herself by drinking Lysol.
Here is a newspaper that describes what happened at the restaurant....at the bottom of the article it states that Daniel Ferguson was well known in the race track circles. It goes on to say that Daniel was also a bodyguard for Assistant Attorney General Post during the lynching trial at Alturas,Modoc County...I found newspaper accounts of this lynching trial and Daniel Ferguson was there using the name "Daniel Miller ".
