I don't know. At least two are still posting, one who says Ringo's death is consistent with everything he's learned about suicide in his career and one who has questioned the possibility of holding a seven-inch-long barrel to one's head and producing the angle of the described wound. I wish one or both would join this discussion. I know other officers have commented but don't remember their positions.

I thought the most interesting thing about the article by the author who had face to face discussions with Henry Smith and the Sandersons was the lack of powder burns on Ringo. The only place I had seen direct quotes about this before was in TOMBSTONE by Burns so I wasn't completely convinced of their veracity. Add that to my list of facts that make me skeptical it was suicide.
